Well Robert Kuttner ... I hope you're not proposing state investments creating an industrial segment that should produce the same things that are bought from China ... something like a trinket and gadgets industrial production segment ... the real issue actually lies on the fact that until today we have not really come to grips with a global economy ... we expected to take full advantaged of it because we naively came to believe that we did not have to do anything nor change anything in the ways we relate with our own society and with our own economy ... we are paying dearly for that ... I don't think protectionism can really stick to the wall unless the government keeps holding it there ... basically because there are indications that China is trying to focus on its home market ... and secondly, because it's completely hipocritical in face of the things we've been proclaiming since the end of the cold war 'til our present days ... but yes, we can always use the tax payers' money to finance our industrial incompetence ... specially if we call back our troops from Afghanistan ...
