Not really ... they either take over the GOP, which they clearly can't do ... and I don't think that's really their purpose ... or go for structuring and legalizing a third party supported by the right-wing fringes ... and this definitely isn't the case ... not even the Koch brothers and their buddies could finance a nation wide third party without going broke ... all for what !!!? ... Trying to conquer the vote of a majority that simply ignores them, when not outraged by their dementia ... for what I can see, these teabag groups are meant to establish legitimacy for their real purpose as a pressure group coercing the entire nation ... including conservatives just as well ...
